Maintain--It ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Maintain--It mobile application (the "App").

Our core principle is simple: Your maintenance data belongs to you and is not sold, shared, or used for advertising.

        User-Owned Data: Your maintenance tasks and records are owned and controlled by you.
Limited Cloud Use: Cloud services are used only to deliver optional features like gift code task templates.
No Advertising: We do not use your data for ads or cross-app tracking.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do NOT collect or use the following for advertising, profiling, or resale:

Personal identifying information for marketing purposes.
User behavior across other apps or websites.
Location history beyond optional in-app functionality.
Maintenance data for analytics or advertising.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The following information is stored locally on your device and, if enabled, your personal iCloud account:

Vehicle & Property Information
Maintenance Tasks, Warranties & History
Notes, Photos, and Documents
App Preferences & Notifications

4. Cloud Services & Gift Code Redemption

Maintain--It uses secure cloud services (Firebase) for limited, user-initiated features:

Gift Codes: When you redeem a gift code, the app retrieves a predefined task template from our servers.
Task Templates: These templates are copied into your account and become fully owned and editable by you.
No Shared Data: After redemption, tasks are no longer linked to the original gift code or creator.

We do not access or modify your personal task data without your action.

5. Analytics & Diagnostics

We may use Firebase Analytics and Crash Reporting to improve app stability and performance. This data is:

Aggregated and anonymized
Used solely for diagnostics and improvement
Not linked to your personal identity
Not used for advertising or tracking

6. Third-Party Services

Firebase (Google)

Firebase is used for secure cloud storage of gift codes, task templates, and anonymous diagnostics.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat manages in-app subscriptions and may process anonymous identifiers required for subscription validation.

Apple App Store

Purchases and downloads are governed by Apple's privacy policies. We do not have access to your payment details.

7. Permissions

Camera: Used for scanning VINs and documents.
Notifications: Used for maintenance reminders.
Location (Optional): Used for region detection or mileage tracking if enabled.

All permissions are optional and controlled by you in iOS Settings.

8. Data Retention & Security

You control your data. Deleting the App removes local data. Cloud-based template data is retained only as needed to support redemption and diagnostics.

9. Your Rights

You may access, modify, export, or delete your data at any time within the App. We comply with GDPR and CCPA requirements by design.
