Maintain-It ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application, Maintain-It (the "App").

The fundamental principle of Maintain-It is simple: Your data belongs to you. We do not want, collect, or store your data on our servers.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit the following to any external servers:

Personal identifying information (name, email, address, phone number).
Maintenance records, service history, or vehicle/property details.
Photos attached to service records.
Financial information or payment details (handled entirely by Apple).
Usage analytics or behavioral data.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following information is stored only on your device and, if enabled, your personal iCloud account:

Vehicle & Property Info: Make, model, year, mileage, and custom descriptions.
Maintenance Data: Tasks, service dates, costs, notes, and photos.
Preferences: Regional settings, units of measure, and notification toggles.
Warranty Info (Pro): Scanned documents and coverage details.

4. How We Use Information

Because we do not collect your data, we do not use it for marketing or analysis. All processing happens locally on your device to calculate due dates, generate schedules, and send notifications.

5. Third-Party Services

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may process anonymous subscription status and device identifiers for validation. They do not receive your maintenance data or personal vehicle information.

Apple App Store

Downloads and purchases are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your payment methods or Apple ID credentials.

6. Location & Camera Access

The App requests permissions for specific features, all of which are controlled by you in iOS Settings:

Location: Used for one-time region detection (coarse location) or optional GPS mileage tracking. Data is never transmitted.
Camera: Used for VIN barcode scanning and photographing receipts/warranties. Photos remain on your device.

7. Data Retention & Security

Since data is stored locally, you are in control of its retention. Deleting the App removes all local data. We protect your data by utilizing iOS secure storage, which is encrypted when your device is locked.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

We comply with global privacy standards (GDPR and CCPA) by design. You have the right to access, modify, and delete your data at any time within the App. Pro users may also export data as PDF or CSV files.
