By downloading, installing, or using Maintain--It ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Maintain--It is a home and vehicle maintenance tracking application that provides:
- Maintenance task tracking and scheduling
- Reminder notifications
- Service history recording
- Warranty document storage (Pro)
- Mileage and service cost tracking
- Service provider recommendations (Pro)
IMPORTANT: Maintain--It is a reminder and organizational tool only. It is NOT a substitute for professional maintenance advice, manufacturer recommendations, or your own diligence.
3. 🚨 Disclaimer of Liability - No Responsibility for Missed Tasks
3.1 User Responsibility for Maintenance
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT:
Maintain--It is a reminder tool, not a guarantee. YOU are solely responsible for actually performing all maintenance.
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- ❌ Missed maintenance appointments or deadlines
- ❌ Forgotten or ignored tasks
- ❌ Overdue vehicle inspections, registrations, or emissions tests
- ❌ Expired warranties due to missed claim deadlines
- ❌ Vehicle breakdowns or failures due to skipped maintenance
- ❌ Property damage due to neglected home maintenance
- ❌ Safety issues arising from deferred maintenance
- ❌ Financial losses from missed warranty claims
- ❌ Any damages resulting from failure to complete tasks
YOU UNDERSTAND THAT:
- ✓ Notifications are a convenience feature, not a guarantee
- ✓ You must actively check the App and your maintenance schedule
- ✓ You are responsible for setting appropriate due dates
- ✓ You are responsible for completing tasks on time
- ✓ The App does NOT replace your own diligence and attention
3.2 No Guarantee of Notifications
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE DELIVERED.
Notifications may fail due to:
- iOS notification settings being disabled
- "Do Not Disturb" or "Focus" modes
- Low battery or Low Power Mode
- Network connectivity issues
- iOS software bugs or updates
- Device storage being full
- Time zone changes
- App being force-closed by system
- Device restarts or software updates
- User error in setting due dates
YOU AGREE:
- To regularly check the App manually for upcoming tasks
- Not to rely solely on notifications
- To verify notification settings are properly configured
- To test notifications periodically
- That WE ARE NOT LIABLE for any consequences of missed notifications
3.3 Maintenance Schedule Accuracy
Maintenance schedules and intervals in the App are GENERAL GUIDANCE ONLY.
YOU MUST:
- Consult your vehicle owner's manual for official maintenance schedules
- Follow manufacturer recommendations for your specific vehicle
- Consult with qualified professionals for maintenance advice
- Consider your specific usage patterns and driving conditions
- Adjust schedules based on climate and environmental factors
The App provides generic maintenance schedules. Your vehicle may require different intervals.
4. Warranty Disclaimer
THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy of information
- Reliability of notifications
- Uninterrupted service
- Error-free operation
5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages including:
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Vehicle damage due to missed maintenance
- Property damage due to neglected maintenance
- Personal injury or death
- Breach of warranty claims due to missed deadlines
- Inspection failures or legal penalties
- Towing costs or emergency repairs
- Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the App
MAXIMUM LIABILITY: In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you actually paid for the App subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim (typically $0 for free users, or subscription cost for Pro users).
6. Subscriptions & Billing (Pro)
6.1 Free Trial
- New users may receive a free trial period
- Credit card required (managed by Apple)
- Trial automatically converts to paid subscription unless cancelled
- Cancel anytime before trial ends to avoid charges
- One trial per Apple ID
6.2 Paid Subscription
- Payment: Billed monthly or annually through Apple App Store
- Auto-Renewal: Subscription automatically renews unless cancelled 24 hours before renewal
- Managing: Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions
- No Refunds: No refunds for partial periods
6.3 Cancellation
- Cancel anytime through iOS Settings
- Access continues until end of paid period
- After cancellation, Pro features become locked
- Historical data remains viewable (read-only)
- Can resubscribe anytime to regain full access
7. User Responsibilities
YOU AGREE TO:
- Provide accurate information when creating tasks and schedules
- Regularly check the App for upcoming maintenance
- Set appropriate and accurate due dates
- Enable and test notification settings
- Maintain iCloud backup for data protection
- Follow manufacturer maintenance recommendations
- Consult professionals for maintenance advice
- Verify service provider credentials
- Use the App in accordance with these Terms
YOU AGREE NOT TO:
- Rely solely on notifications without checking the App
- Blame the App for your failure to complete maintenance
- Hold us responsible for notification failures
- Misuse or abuse the App's features
- Reverse engineer or decompile the App
- Share Pro features with non-subscribers
8. Service Provider Recommendations (Pro - "Find a Pro")
The "Find a Pro" feature provides contact information only.
WE DO NOT:
- Endorse or recommend any specific service provider
- Verify qualifications, licensing, or insurance of providers
- Guarantee quality of work performed
- Have any relationship with listed service providers
- Receive compensation from service providers
- Perform background checks on service providers
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Verifying credentials and qualifications of any service provider
- Checking licenses, insurance, and certifications
- Reading reviews and performing due diligence
- Negotiating prices and terms of service
- Ensuring quality of work performed
- Any disputes with service providers
Service providers are found via Google Places API and displayed based on proximity, Google ratings, and relevance only.
9. AI-Powered Features (Pro)
Warranty Document Extraction uses AI technology.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE:
- AI extraction may contain errors or inaccuracies
- You must verify all extracted information
- We are not liable for incorrect extractions
- Original documents should be retained and reviewed
- AI is a convenience tool, not a replacement for reading documents
Always verify AI-extracted information against original documents.
10. Privacy Policy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains our commitment to keeping your data local to your device.

- All data stored locally on your device
- We do not collect or store your personal information
- Optional iCloud backup to YOUR Apple account
